The popular and entertaining Maths in the Malls event is back again at the MetroCentre in Gateshead. Volunteer and help students and visitors discover how maths is all around them.

We need Science and Engineering Ambassadors to assist primary school children on an exciting maths activity trail throughout the MetroCentre Mall.

Volunteers need only come along for half a day.

Take part in fun mathematical activities and find out how maths is all around you. Come along, bring a friend, make a difference.

The Royal Academy of Engineering is offering two streams of funding for public engagement in a grants scheme called "Ingenious."

1)NEW - Public Engagement Fellowships are open to excellent early/mid-stage
career engineers (from academia or industry) to:

Explore the implications of engineering for society
Build dialogue with the public, policy makers and other stakeholders
Gain knowledge and skills in engaging with the public and the public policy process.

Each Fellowship engineer will be supported by a mentor.

2)Public Engagement Activities and Development Awards are available to Higher Education Institutes and organisations that specialise in communication and dialogue with the public to deliver:

Public engagement activities that involve engineers in development and delivery
Training courses, seminars and workshops for engineers to develop their skills and knowledge in public engagement
