Race to the South Pole

Free Teachers Resources

Ben Fogle and James Cracknell, as Team QinetiQ will be taking part in the first race to the Geographic South Pole since Scott and Amundsen's legendary duel nearly 100 years ago. The race covers over 400 miles across one of the harshest environments in the world and takes place during the short Antarctic summer of December 2008 and January 2009. Scientists are working hard to prepare the Team for this epic journey, helping them with nutrition, teamwork and physical fitness. To help you enrich science into the classroom they have developed the Team QinetiQ Learning Zone.
