Interested in running a KS3 STEM After School Club but not sure where to start? Want to try out new teaching ideas in a risk free environment ?
Then come along to the free CPD sessions that we will be running over the next term! A KS3 After School Club can give you the opportunity to explore and test new teaching ideas in maths and science in a risk free environment. The four sessions will cover:
Session 1: Why you should have a club in your school, resources available to help you and suggested activities that you can get started with easily (lots of them)!
Session 2: Sources of funding and ongoing support for your club, suggested activities for your club!
Session 3: Keeping up the enthusiasm, long-term planning and suggested activities for your club!
Session 4: The opportunity to celebrate what your students have achieved in their club. Plus, there should be lots of freebies at each session!
The first session will take place on Thursday 11th February 2010 at Newcastle Racecourse. It will run from 4pm to 6pm. The subsequent sessions will be confirmed at this session. If you’re interested in coming along to all four sessions, please complete the enclosed booking form and return (please email either Newcastle STEM Outreach or Helen Weddle to receive booking form).
If you have any questions about these workshops, please feel free to get in touch with Helen Weddle at NEPIC on 0191 516 4400 or via email on Helen.weddle@nepic.co.uk
