What do STEM Ambassadors do?

STEM Ambassadors lead exciting and informative activities with school children and young people to break common misconceptions about science and technology subjects. Subjects which are often though of as being "difficult" or "hard to pass exams in". They show young people that these can be fascinating and enjoyable subjects with great career prospects.

STEM Ambassadors play a vital role in supporting schools and teachers by providing opportunities to enhance the curriculum, act as role models and provide guidance and inspiration to thousands of students across Tyne and Wear.

From April 2009 Science and Engineering Ambassadors will be known as STEM Ambassadors to more accurately reflect the breadth of industry areas represented by our volunteers.
