CREST Star Investigators is the new CREST scheme for primary schools. You can request activity packs by filling out this simple form and returning it to Newcastle College STEM Outreach. If you need and help just email us at stempoint@ncl-coll.ac.uk
Engaging and Fun
These activity packs have been designed to develop children's investigative skills in engaging and fun ways. Whether through hunting for mini-beasts on an animal adventure, worm charming or even investigating fingerprints these activities help children to talk about and share their ideas and findings.
CREST Star Investigator packs are aimed at specific primary school age groups and cater for their abilities and understanding whilst still challenging them and encouraging learning and growth. The CREST Star level packs are for 5 to 7 year olds, SuperStar packs are for 7 to 11 years old and MegaStar and YSA (Young Science Ambassador) packs are for 8 to 12 year olds.
What is in the CREST star packs?
What will I receive?
Each pack contains enough resources for 30 children. Star logs, badges and stickers allow children to record their progress. Activity cards frame the activities and provide an easy to follow reference point during activities. Organisers cards give detailed information for teachers and organisers including explanations of the scientific principles behind the activities and suggestions for expanding on and enriching the children's experiences.
