STEM Outreach are the regional coordinators of the STEM Advisory Network and STEM Ambassadors scheme in Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. We act as the central hub for STEM enhancement and enrichment in the North East

Schools Activities Section
Newcastle College STEM Outreach still offer an exciting range of free curriculum enhancement activities. This program of activities has been developed in collaboration with the regions top education and industry providers. Many of the activities feature leading industry and educational speakers, researchers, scientists and engineers.
The activities for schools cover a wide spectrum of topics relevant to the national curriculum. From science and technology to engineering and maths.

Nuffield Research Placements
Eligible students can receive up to £80 per week from the Nuffield Foundation for completing a 4 to 6 week research project. Placements are offered by local and national organisations. Students gain valuable and nationally recognised experience.
British Science Association CREST Awards and New CREST Star Investigators Scheme
Newcastle College STEM Outreach also offers the British Science Association CREST award scheme for secondary schools and CREST Star Investigators for primary schools
Schools
Teachers, headmasters, department heads and tutors can benefit from our wide range of resources to enhance and compliment teaching and the curriculum. Many of these resources are free and some lead to nationally recognised awards.
