From august 2008 we will no longer be called Setpoint Tyne and Wear. We will still offer all the great services and information you have come to expect but under the official title "Newcastle College holding a Stempoint contract" and "Newcastle College holding a STEM Ambassadors contract."

Schools Activities Section
Newcastle College STEM Outreach still offer an exciting range of free curriculum enhancement activities. This program of activities has been developed in collaboration with the regions top education and industry providers. Many of the activities feature leading industry and educational speakers, researchers, scientists and engineers.
The activities for schools cover a wide spectrum of topics relevant to the national curriculum. From science and technology to engineering and maths.

New Class Kits Section!
Take a look at our new class kits for schools. Affordable science class kits such as ABO-Rh blood typing or crystal growing. Technology class kits such as building an AM radio or designing and building a logic alarm.
This range of class kits have been selected for their relevance to the curriculum. If you require any class kits or equipment not listed please contact us as we may be able to source materials to match your requirements.

Nuffield Foundation Bursaries
Students can receive up to £75 per week from the Nuffield Foundation for completing a 4 to 6 week research project. Placements are offered by local and national organisations through Stempoint contract holders. Students gain valuable and nationally recognised experience.
British Science Association CREST Awards and New CREST Star Investigators Scheme
Newcastle College STEM Outreach also offers the British Science Association CREST award scheme for secondary schools and CREST Star Investigators for primary schools
Schools
Teachers, headmasters, department heads and tutors can benefit from our wide range of resources to enhance and compliment teaching and the curriculum. Many of these resources are free and some lead to nationally recognised awards.
